The only potential problem you may need to correct is if the new stock does not have a decent receiver shelf for the receiver to lay into...For example, the Butler Creek folding stock has a very low receiver shelf where you can literally push the receiver down into the stock when it's all screwed in...this creates a teetering motion of the entire barreled action if the barrel band is not in use and it's very sloppy...If you bed or even pin the receiver to the stock then you are all good to go and the barrel band is of no use but cosmetic...fully float the barrel and bed the first 2 inches of the barrel and you're golden
