.920" Heavy Barrel

im new to upgrading my ruger and what is the point of the .920" Barrel - what is it designed to do? i want a new sock and keep finding the stocks that only fit the .920" Barrel. i dont want to get a stock that fits the original barrel and decide to change to a .920" Barrel later on. i just use my gun for shooting cans, rabbits nd birds around the camp/house

GMinor is an unknown quantity at this point
Well the .920 is a bull barrel. Used for a more accurate configuration, also adding significant weight to the gun. Now if you want to keep the original barrel (good idea for your uses listed above) there are several options. I would suggest first that you look at the hogue overmold stock. They make it for both standard and bull barrels. That one stock should fit your needs well and NOT break the bank. I really like the fit and finish of it and when I pick up another 10/22 that is what stock I will choose.

You can stay with the factory bbl and if you decide have it re-cut and gain a lot of performance from it. Look at the stocks offered by Revolution. I believe they offer them in a few styles that are available with barrel channels cut for the factory sporters.
