I need some guidance in selecting a trigger or drop in trigger assembly. I want one with no side to side slop. Also as little "creep" as possible, none is preferable. I would like it smooth and adjustable. Am I asking for too much for the 10-22? Roy |

I tried to register with rimfire central, They have not emailed me, sending the link that it takes to allow me to post. They said they did, but I never got it. lI am logged in over there as "shuvel", same as here, but I am not allowed to post. If a member from here would make them aware of this I would appreciate it. Hawktech Arms also sells trigger kits from most of the main guys (PC, Volquartsen). I've bought several parts through them and I've always gotten them really fast. Plus if it requires something like an additional after-market part, they'll tell you.

I've tried a bunch of triggers, from the DIY parts to the complete assembly (Jard). In my Opinion, the best bang for the buck is a rework by TT Shooter or Clark. Better than the DIY stuff and you don't need to mess w/ it. They're on par with the Volquartsen which is over 2x as much. If you need the best, Kid is it with the Jard close behind. All depends on what it's worth to you but don't think you can spend $ and get a $$$ result.

Shuvel, No way bragging, but years ago I dropped the big bucks on my 10/22... The Volquartsen Trigger Guard Assembly 2000 Volquartsen Trigger Guard Assembly 2000 Ruger 10/22 Black - MidwayUSA Cost me more than the damn gun. ![]() That said...not a 100% plus, cause can't let ANYBODY shoot this gun...lol The trigger, too perfect,TOO LIGHT, and CRISP, zero over travel. It took me time to learn to handle safely.... That said....Freaking love my choice! Best guess, turned my gun 2-3x more accurate in my hands. NO WAY SAYING BUY ONE....just sharing "MY DETAILS WITH MINE" Others have posted good advice, for less cash! So YET AGAIN, not pushing what I bought, just sharing |

Tried the Vol one and it's a good thing I got mine at 1/2 price. For the same $ I can get a rework that's just as good if not better. Basically paying for the name on that one.

I have to side with IZZY. You can take a factory trigger (plastic or metal) and make it just as good as the store bought ones for virtually nothing but some time and effort. Of course anyone who drops more on a trigger than the gun will never admidt to this.

Doing your own trigger work does come at a price though!! ![]() I know after doing a few of my own, I ended up doing my Brother's, my Dad's, my buddy's, his Dad's & my Father in law's. On second thought, maybe buying the parts would be better! |

I guess whats in the back of my mind is the Kidd trigger. It really looks impressive but I've been fooled before (lotsa times) I think I would want a single stage trigger as I've never shot a two stage trigger and I am wondering how the single stage kidd compares to the Volq. I would guess a good do it yourself job wont have an adjustable trigger, Or could it??? You can email me at cajun7@bellsouth.net Roy

I would agree with Ghostt about the volquartsen TG2000. I did the mods at rfc on the trigger group of my SR22. I was happy with the results but it was still a plastic POS housing and although I dont mind plastic toilet seats, in firearms (to me) it has no place. The TG 2000 has worked flawlessly for several thousand rounds, might be a bit pricey but the pull is as low as I think you can safely go and its consistant and the product is well made.

Well, I went down to cabelas to pick up a trigger gauge, and while I was there I picked up the Power Customs sear/Hammer/etc kit. When I got home I took the action apart and lo and behold....Ruger has "improved" the hammer the "improved" version doesn't use the little bushing/spacers, it is all one casted part. Since it is spacerless the new Power custom piece I bought can be returned. At the present I have it down to 4 1/2 lbs (from 6lbs). I'll call it quits for today and see if I can get some 4000 or 5000 grit lapping compound. Thanks for everyones help. |

Kidd now makes a single stage and from all reports thus far it's as nice as the 2-stage. Still don't understand the hype of the Volquartsen. Gotta be another case of people buying a name over everything else.

I just put a trigger kit in my 10/22. Pre-travel adjustable hammer and sear kit from Power Customs as well as a new aluminum over travel adjustable trigger from Power Custom as well. They work GREAT together. All slack is taken out. Crisp 2.5 # pull. I purchased the kits through MIDWAY USA Hammer & Sear for $71.99 (part #949322) and overtravel adjusable trigger was $22.99 (part # 748474). I baught a E.R. Shaw blued bull barrel (.920") with bentz match chamber from MIDWAY USA for $100.00 and Hogue stock. Also purchaed an aluminum trigger housing from Tactical Innovations (Tactical Innovations Inc. - Idaho Official Website - Guns, Gear &) for $50.00. I get 1/4" to 1/2" groups (depending on weather) at 85 yards.

I was able to sell the Power customs hammer/sear kit, by installing it in my son-in-laws 10-22. His factoryu was sent at 8lbs and its down to 3.25 he is happy with that. I probably can get it down more by polishing both hammer and sear. I worked somemore on my rifle, I got it down to 3 1/2 lbs, but I don't like the feel of it. at this time I'm believing that when I get it to where I want it at 1 lb (more or less), It'll still feel sloppy. I might spring for the Kidd in the morning. Hell, its only money |
