Weight of Stock Ruger 10/22 Carbine Wood stock?

I am looking for a new stock for my Ruger 10/22 and have a few in mind and have all of their weights noted, I was wondering how much the stock wood 10/22 stock weighed for comparison.

The weight of the factory wood stock of the Ruger 10/22 Carbine is 2 pounds 0.7 ounces including the barrel band.

I hope this helps.

I built a lightweight 10 22 build using Rugers American Rifle Stock and a Beyers Barrels mid weight lightweight barrel. With Nikon Scope it's just a hair over 5 lbs.

Look up my profile and posts and you'll see the build aND data. Got a bobcat with it last week, carrying that thing out of the woods.... I was VERY happy to have a lightweight build strapped to my back, lol

Oh, and take it from me, if you do a lightweight build, a good trigger is a MUST!!! I used to wolff spring kit, worked good for a budget lightweight build. Think about it, trying to move a 7 lb trigger on a rifle that weighs about 5.5....... it was a "duh" moment for me, haha

I put a Boyd's stock, Green Mountain 20 inch sporter barrel, and Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9x40 BDC on my 10/22. It brought the weight up to 7.5 pounds. I like that weight.

Thanks for the help! I think I've decided to go with the Magpul hunter x22 stock, still might want to go with the houge overmolded rubber, I really want the gripping of the rubber but don't want the extra weight.

Took off the factory plastic ruger stock and went with the Hogue rubber overmolded, I love it! and recouped 3/4 of the cost of the Hogue when I sold the ruger stock. Seemed like a Win/Win to me
