Beyer barrels, factory taper any good?
So randomly Ive gotten interested in making a lightweight 10/22. I've read where light barrels with aluminum tend to get wacked badly with the bolt, damaging both pieces. Maybe a spring job can fix this (like on 1911's, but I'm new to 10/22's, so don't know). Or am I better off with abother barrel? Looking for it to be lighter than stock, but last a good while, as I shoot alot, so strength trumps weight. Only reason I looked at Beyer is because they have the factory taper, so I can keep my lightweight synthetic stock as is, which I like, save some $. Maybe some other company has a factory taper, that I don't know about?
And again, I could be wrong, but bull barrel on a 10/22 seems a bit crazy, do the barrels get that hot? It's tough for me to judge though, as my other guns are different animals, .223 bolt, AR and M1A- all of which get hot pretty fast. Maybe I'm under estimating the power of the lil 22 in heat.
Thanks for the advice!!
