Which 10/22 is this at Walmart

Grabbing some stuff at the local Wally World I glanced in the gun case. A 10/22 that looks to have the same stock as the "design contest" winner stock (looks like a American Rimfire synthetic stock) but a standard blued receiver and barrel. No threaded muzzle or shrouded front sight. Price was dirt cheap too.

Is this just their new synthetic basic model or something different? Glancing at the Ruger website I didn't see anything quite like it but there are so darn many variations it's hard to say.

Good question. I've seen them too. Looks nice. I wish I could could get one of those contest models though...

I'm with you on that, I found a few online for around 400 but they all wanted like $50 shipping....just couldn't swallow that. A friend of mine has one but he won't budge on it...yet

I picked up a "50th anniversary design contest winner" model as soon as they became available.

I have one like that, blued, with a grey stock instead of the black, and they call it the Collector's Edition.

I have the same one, scattershot! Did yours come threaded though like the one showed? Mine didn't, but u do like the iron sights, very accurate to use ot you 50 yds. Just wish mine had a threaded barrel.

These stocks are VERY ligtweight, hence me purchasing it, we held all the 10/22's at the store (Kube's firearms in clearwater, has about 25 of them), and this was the lightest, great hiking gun.

No, the barrel isn't threaded. I do love the irons on the rifle, even though I use a scope now since I can't really use the iron sights anymore. I just put one of the BX triggers on mine, and you wouldn't believe the difference.

Just bought one today - Model 21142

I just purchased one at Walmart today. It is a model 21142. I can not find it on the Ruger website anywhere. I look forward to running a few rounds through it. Ordered a few extra mags as well.

If anyone has info on this model, please let me know. It is marked 10/22 model 10/22-AM-S on the barrel.

I recently bought a model 21139 which also does not come up on the Ruger website. The stock is copper color with the interchangeable inserts I bought the high comb for scope use and the short version so my grandson can shoot it. I also added the BX trigger, very nice. When I ran the model # on google a few came up with one on Guns America website for $350.00. I paid $199.00 at my local dealer.
