| Hi new here, new 10/22, hogue stocks?
hello everyone, i just got my 10/22 but i would love to add a new stock to it. As i am a rather tall guy with long arms, i feel the factory furniture to be a touch small for my liking. i am leaning toward the hogue overmolded, and was wondering if anyone here owned one and what they thought about it.
My main question is, is this stock a little bit larger (more adult size) than the factory 10-22 wood?
what are everyones thoughts and opinions on the hogue stock overall, i would love to see some pictures of your guns with hogue stocks if possible.
My other strong choice is to go with the tapco t6 anyone have this and like it, or love it, or hate it?
thanks in advance!

In a similar situation I simply took off the factory plastic buttplate and put on a thick recoil pad. Not for recoil, but for length. yep, only 6' tall, but 6'2" armspread.

Just bought a 10/22, added a Hogue stock and really like it. I think it might could use a little length and will probably try a spacer in it in the near future.
Good luck with yours, keep us posted.

I also purchased the Hogue stock as a replacement for the wooden one my son uses. The dimensions are similar to the stock stock. (forgive the pun!) If your a taller individual, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, its a fine stock but for my 6' frame, it's a little cramped. I added a predator T-Rex stock, much nicer.

I found the soft Hoque coating is too sticky. Everything sticks to it. As hard to clean as velour shoes. Shows every fingerprint. |

I put the od green hogue on mine and like it just fine
it added about one inch to the length and while some dont like how tacky they are, i do
it was very easy to install and the quality is top notch

I like the BlackHawk Axiom R/F stock. It's similar to the stock they put on Howa rifles, if you've seen those. Next spring I'm gonna buy a 10/22 carbine and put that stock on it. I would with my current one but it's a 10/22T and is just too nice.

Love the Hogue stocks. Here's my 10/22 with Hogue stock, stock barrel I had shortened and target crown cut on.
The really great thing about the Hogue stocks, if you plan on throwing it on a 4 wheeler or behind the seat, they're hard to hurt.
Oh, almost forgot, WELCOME!!!!

I absolutely love my Hogue overmold stock. It is SOOOO much better than the stock stock (not a typo lol) that I recommend it to ANYONE who wants a new stock.
It is slightly larger than the standard stock but not by a whole lot. I think you'll like it.

I am in the process of building a target rifle, hopefully similar to the one 10/22 Ruger introduced late last year but has failed to produce in plentiful numbers, and I just ordered a Hogue black tactical (deep) stock. I also ordered a target .920 bull barrel and it should match-up nicely, at least that's what I am hoping. It's my first project. Any suggestions or ideas to make it better?

S | Buy the Volquartsen custom hammer. It is available for around $35 and it changes the trigger pull from like 5 lbs to 2.5lbs. It will greatly help your accuracy. On mine I ended up NOT changing the trigger return spring because my trigger kept failing to reset with the new spring...so keep that in mind.
This is a really good, really cheap upgrade that is worth its weight in gold. I also changed out my extractor to a volquartsen one and that works great as well.
