Identify this 10/22?
I bought a stainless Ruger 10/22 yesterday, and I have no idea what it is or what after-market parts will fit.
Barrel is stainless steel. Receiver appears to be liquid honed aluminum rather than steel. Trigger guard assembly appears to be black plastic. Stock is wood, but I am uncertain whether the wood is birch or plain American walnut. There is no checkering on the stock. There is no barrel band. Front and rear sling swivels are installed, but I do not know whether this is OEM or after-market. Butt includes a solid Ruger-logo'd rubber recoil pad. Stock is secured to barrelled action via a single blued screw.
The Ruger barrel is not a bull barrel or target barrel, at least in terms of weight. I am uncertain how Ruger measures their barrel lengths. This barrel has about 21.5 inches protruding from the receiver.
I cannot locate this configuration of 10/22 in Ruger's 2009 catalog. I want to obtain a different stock, disposing of the one it wears. I also want to improve the trigger action -- it is spongy and heavier than my Mark III Hunter.
I also want information on what custom, after-market, or Ruger non-OEM changes/parts I should consider to render the rifle squirrel-head accurate at 50 yards.
