I posted this in the Summer Contest thread but it was getting a bit off-topic so I will repost it here.
I just today finished installing the Skinner receiver mounted aperture sight on my Henry Frontier .22lr.
I had to trim the .5" front sight I got from Skinner down a good bit to bring the POI up near the bullseye with the rear sight about midway. This was shot as I was filing the sight and was from a bag at 25 yards.
So far I am very pleased with the Skinner sight. At 66 years old in a few weeks I just couldn't see the notch in the Buckhorn sight.
I have the .070 aperture installed and find it to be better for target work than the stock .096.
The front sight was covered in metal filings when I took the photo. It is now clean and ready for the bluing to be applied.
