Great guns, ammo is relatively cheap and plentiful. I have 1, great shooters very accurate. I turned 1.5MOA last week off bags with mine shooting surplus ammo. I smile a lot when I shoot mine.

Fyi 91/30 is not a Carbine. I love my 91/30 and my M44 carbine. Great guns. Cheap surplus ammo. Great fun to shoot. $149 isnt terrible anymore. Dig for one with a star on the receiver cover, or a hexagonal receiver. Higher value for the dollar in those.

Get it! You can't go wrong with one of those! They're cheap to operate and parts are plentiful. You can always modernize it if you'd like (new stocks, bolts, rails- you name it, you can sporterize it). In fact, get two!

I'm a Ruger single action nut so why in the world would I want some Iron Curtain old pile of junk to shoot? And then I bought the first one...now have 3..Sort of like the guy that shows up at the drag strip with the rusted out old Vega and runs in the 9's...everyone says it isn't right...brand snobs hate Mosins but man are they fun...huge flash...big boom....kick like a mule and if you get stuck in the mud you can pry the axle loose with the gun like a tree limb. Buy, buy, buy!!!

Left handed no excuse. I have a couple left handed friend that can shoot right hand bolt actions pretty fast.

I got one a couple years back for under $100 out the door (Those days are gone), Its a 1929 Tula hex reciever 91/30 (Ex Dragoon). Surplus ammo is still very much available for a decent price, But be prepared to clean after every outing as it is corrosive. As stated they are a blast to shoot and accurate too! (although it can vary depending on condition). My step dad also has a 91/30 and 2 M44 carbines from the 40's. It's great fun to drag them all out on a weekend with a bucket of ammo and shoot all day without breaking the bank, Although after a day of getting kicked by the mule you might think you broke your arm

For everything you ever needed to know about these rifles and then some check out 7.62X54R.net
