Hey everyone, I know it's not the best looking rifle (or best phone camera picture) but I'm so excited about my very first AR build. Built it up today at my LGS (with a lot of hands on help). It's a Mega Arms forged lower, PSA Gen 2 MOE LPK, Spikes 16" M4 LE upper, Troy folding rear sight, and Magpul stock & sling.

This picture was taken on the counter where I just got done assembling it.

Hoping to get to the range by the weekend to try it out.

Congrats on your first AR! You are going to love it. The only downside is finding ammo at a reasonable price these days. I can pretty much guarantee that you will be hooked so quickly, that you will immediately start planning your next AR project. Ask me how I know

Thanks guys. I have a decent amount of 5.56/223 for my mini 14. Plus I got lucky yesterday at the range and found they had some PMC 223 on hand. I put 100 rounds through the AR. It was awesome. I do agree that I'll soon be planning my next build, just as I was about 2 days after getting my first 1911.

Maybe i need to get ahold of the rifles I have built for friends and add them.... gonna work on that, has to be 20 or 30 rifles.. will be a BIG picture, but alot of eye candy!

Thinking about doing a semi-custom build. Frame TBD, caspian slide, wilson combat components. I love Kimber and have been drooling over them for quite some time. But like the AR I just built, the idea of buying what I want and assembling it has become quite appealing.

True, sounds like you have some good idea's and parts in mind. After I bought my SIS custom R/L a few years back I quenched the 1911 urge. Its no longer made but i drooled over it for many months before i could pay it off. I really don't even take it out much, only special occassions but wouldn't part with it. Do include pics when you complete it and good luck!

I am trying to figure out how I can get my buddies togather, talking them into bringing out all their Ar's and getting a group photo, the logistics of that is gonna be a nightmare. Oh well, maybe I should mention I will buy a case of beer.... That may work!!

Update. I've changed out the front handgrip with a Wilson Combat tactical rail, which free floated the barrel. Also mounted a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x scope using a Larue Tactical base. Still waiting on the Troy fold down front sight (LGS has them on order).
