| Full auto AR-15?
I have an AR-15 with a Slidefire stock and it's a whole lotta fun to shoot. But I wonder if there is a way to legally obtain and install the part that activates the "fun" switch on them?
Can you just pay a stamp tax and get the parts?

Don't know about that but for full auto you need to get the Class 3 ok from the ATBF and once you do have a full auto weapon there are loads of regulations that you must abide by to legally own it, proper safe is one of them I know.

You can do it if you want to spend the money and have the government up in your business.

You can get a registered Auto Sear but that could cost you around $5,000 not including the stamp.
F/A is fun but expensive all around (cost, ammo, stamp etc.)

On a serious note, the first thing you need to do is find a Class III dealer who knows what they are doing. This is one purchase where you do not want the process screwed up. The second thing is to call your county sheriff to see if they would sign off on it (some make it impossible). The recommended way to avoid the local LEO sign off is to set up a trust. Once that's done, have the dealer help with all the paper work, buy your auto sear or FA rifle, send in paperwork, pay for stamp, and wait an eternity
There is a lot more to it but that's the abbreviated version. Your dealer (if they're good) will walk you through the whole process.

Good advice, rule #1 is of course go through a proper licensed class 3 dealer. Don't monkey around with something like this or you will regret it.
Another piece of advice is avoid the "drop in auto sear" approach, buy a proper rifle if that's what you want and be prepared to get a second mortgage on your house.
Supressors are much less costly.

I have seen the stock you talk about and have seen fired in Penn. It is not legal for me to own as a NJ state resident. also not legal collapsible of folding stocks on a semi auto rifle or a pistol grip on a semi auto shotgun.

I already have the slidefire stock. Which, according to their literature, is legal in all 50 states. I'm just repeating what their information says.

I once read somewhere that the military doesn't use the auto function of the AR much, as it sprays too many wasted shots. Better to use your tax stamp money on a belt-fed.

We got a call about people in the desert shooting "automatic weapons". I thought "Awesome, I want to go play!" and rushed up there.
Nah, it was just bump stocks. Still shot a mag with it, it was fun, but it's not the same as clicking the selector lever twice to F/A
Also, if you win the lottery and want to get your F/A, there is a law enforcement tax on the weapon. You can just give it to me in cash. I'll take care of it for you |

Hope you like spending your time in club Fed. If you want to drop a autosear in, it's best to be a 01/07 dealer with class III SOT and a demo letter from your local top cop. It is illegal to own a post 1986 auto without it. |
