I just traded one today. 94 Ranger circa 1990 in 30/30......Now I'm feeling a little remorse about it.
I'll feel better tomorrow shooting my new LCR 357 |

I have always wanted a model 9422. A friend of mine had one and it was a great shooting 22.

My pride and joy is a 94 30-30 made in 1953. Probably had no more than a couple hundred rounds through it in its life. Nothing like an old lever gun, unless maybe it's an old Ruger pistol or revolver or rifle. Love those, too.

I watched an episode of American Guns tonight. They took one of these, shortened the barrel, made a custom titanium receiver, slicked up the action and trigger and made it a "truck gun".

I have owned several Marlin lever rifles in 35 rem, 30-30, and 444Marlin. They were fine rifles, but my favorite hunting guns have been a pair of 'cousins'--- a Winchester Model 88 levergun in 308, and more recently it's relative, the Model 100 semi-auto, also in 308. I have two of those beauties, a rifle and a carbine. I love the look of the one piece stock and just the way it fits and feels to shoot.
My thumbhole stock Mini-30 is growing on me, but my first choice for hunting (out of Indiana) is the Win Model 100.

IMy first long gun was a Winchester 9422 I purchased in November 1974. I had just turned 18 and the day i turned 18 I applied for a NJ state long gun purchase permit. It took 4 weeks to get approved. Just before Christmas 1974 I purchase my 9422. I had save up from my job for almost a year to get one. My dad hit the roof and almost threw me out of the house for buying a gun. He still hates guns. I sold that Winchester to a friend who had a son who wanted one and could not find one. That said I have since owned 6 marlins to one winchester.
