| Ruger 10/22, Marlin 60, what next?
I bought my first 10/22 back in June. I quickly realized I also "needed" a Marlin 60, so I got one a month later. Now it is clear that I "need" many more .22lr rifles.
So, what next? I'm thinking maybe a lever action, like a Henry perhaps. For the moment I am not concerned about getting one of every variety of 10-22 or Marlin 60, so that leaves other brands and models. I'm not real impressed by any of the other semi-auto 22's so far. If anyone would care to differ, let me know. I also am shying away from bolt action models, as I am left handed.
So, lever action seems like a sensible place to continue collecting (translation: acquiring) 22's.
What do y'all think about Henry's? Any other suggestions?

I want the Mossberg 464 SPX Lever-Action Rifle (Choose .22lr or .30-30). I think it's a nice change. Check it out, love it, hate it, whatever!
This Link should get you there: O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc. - Firearms, Shotguns, Rifles, Accessories, and Precision Machining
I also like your Henry consideration. Sweet shooters.

Hmmm... I like guns that look "tactical" such as AR's and AK's. They're supposed to look like that. I like traditional guns to stay traditional looking, i.e., wood stocks, etc. I'm not sure about making a cowboy gun look liked it was cross-bred with an AK47. Should be a great shooter, tho.

I had a Henry its a good little 22. The only thing I did'nt really like is the plastic front sight. I gave it to my daughter to go with her Bearcat she likes it & shoots both pretty good.

Henry's are fine little lever guns that certainly are affordable. I'd also check out Savage's rimfire lineup as well, to say they're accurate is a total understatement! They're also quite affordable. Rimfires are now more popular than ever before, it's a great time for the .22! Rimfire firearms are like flashlights and screwdrivers, you can never have too many! (lol)

I bought the entry model Henry rifle. It's a great gun, the action is unreal smooth. I enjoy shooting it. Kinda brings out the little kid in me, cowboys and injuns. Great fun on action targets.

(lol) | I have considered the Savage 64. Two things, though: none of my local gun stores seem to stock it. Also, it seems to be more difficult to take down for cleaning. What is your take on that?

I looked at a Henry in the store the other day. Looks very nice, but it's really small. I'm a big guy and I'm afraid it would look like a toy. Quality does seem to be high though.

Henry guns are nice! I've been eyeing their octagonal barrel 44mag. Beautiful gun! I wouldn't mind a Henry 22lr lever either

The length of stocks are the same just alittle long for her but she did'nt want me to shorten them to youth length that alot of women like better.

I would look at the Savage rimfire lineup. They are bolt actions but are available in lefthand configurations and are very accurate. I have my eye on their Model 93GL, a lefty in .22WMR

Good thinking on a Henry Lever-Action! I have one and saying that they're action is slick is an understatement! Friend has a Savage 64. While I swear it is the ugliest thing since snot, it can out-shoot my 10/22. But, he is stuck with 10 rounder magazines so... Trigger has a lot of slack in it as well. No bolt hold open. But, like I said, holy crap can that thing shoot!
One more thing I can recommend, why not a single six? I have it's big brother, the Blackhawk and that thing is tough. You can get the conv. models as well. I'd stay away from the single ten, that thing just looks silly |

Smoothest lever action I ever saw is a Henry. However, Friend of mine bought a Henry 22 mag and at 100 yards could not keep the group smaller than a basket ball! Don't know why but he is sending it back.
