The title says all about this thread. Mine was a Savage in .243, that thing could shoot a half inch group on any given range visit! It had flashes of brilliance when it could even pull off less than .5 " groups.

Savage 10FP in .308
A close runner up is a Swedish M41b sniper rifle in 6.5x55. I've shot a lot of 1" groups at 200 yards with it, the drawback is that it tends to string shots to about 2 moa to the left when the barrel heats up. On the bright side, I always know where its going to hit for the first 1/2 dozen shots.

I never thought a lever action would outshoot my bolt actions but my Savage M99 in 250 Sav with the right amout of IMR 3031 under an 87 gr bullets will give me an honest 5/8". My M77 270 will shoot to 3/4" with H4831 and 130 gr Sierra's. I strive for good hunting accuracy and once I get there I'm happy and I stop. Then it's time to hunt.

The only rifles I've ever owned are two 10/22s. My brother had a sporterized 7mm Mauser that could do consistent half inch groups at 150 yards. I think that's good enough!.

Remington 40x in 7.62. It would "do"3/8" in @200 yards. From prone.

My Savage model 12 FVSS .22-250. with it's Leoupold MKII 12x50 scope. It will make a single 1/2 hole consistently with 5 shots at 200 yards from the lead sled. It doesn't get much more accurate than that. I also have several other Savages that'll just about match it. From 100 yards I have many rifles that'll do the same including rimfires but that model 12 will make a 5 shot hole that's not much larger than the .22 caliber bullet that it shoots.

That would be my Remington 788, in 6mm Remington, with a Swift 6-24x50mm Premier Scope on it.

I had a Ruger M77 Varmint years ago in 220 swift that would shoot the 52 gr Sierra Hollow Point BT bullet into a 3/8 in group. That was a 10 shot group. It had a Canjar set trigger and Leupold 12 power scope with Adjustable Objective.I never did anything with the bedding it shot that way right out of the box.My first rifle was a Parker Hale Super 1200 in 243 Winchester I bought from JC Penny's.It would shoot into 3/4 with about any 100 gr bullet I tried.

first, my Savage BTV in .22lr. second, My Sauer 202 in .300 Weatherby Mag., third, my Steyr Mannlicher Pro-Hunter in .308, and fourth, my Marlin 1895 Guide gun in .45-75. I have a new Sako 85 Black Bear that looks like it has the potential to be number two. I'm shooting sub 1" groups w/the only factory round I have shot through it: Federal Fusion 150 gr. 30-06. Haven't tried others yet nor started reloading for it.
