My M1 Garand has needed a sibling for quite some time now... so this past Saturday I adopted one. She was born on 01-12-2012 and her name is Cadence. :) She started off life as a Springfield M1A SOCOM 16 with a black synthetic stock.

Just got the refinished USGI stock in the mail today, so I thought I'd see how it looked. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with this thing... my original intention was to make it a truck / campground rifle for up in the mountains. I do have a 1x4 scope on the way that'll be rear-mounted. I'll prolly ditch the scout rail and put on a different handguard.

Anyway...

Still trying to decide what I want this thing to be... after many hours of research, I finally settled on one of the new Burris MTAC 1x4 scopes. It works pretty slick this way, but I'm just not sure how long it'll stay on there. It really does make it a whole different rifle (weight, balance, clumsiness, looks, etc.).

Next is a short rail underneath up front so I can mount a light - just ran out of time tonght.
