Lightbulb ruger pump 22

i think its time RUGER came out with a 22rf pump gun to run alongside the 10/22. auto loaders are ok sometimes and while my rossi 22pump is the most fun gun i ever owned i think ruger could top it if they stayed close to the 10/22 format.

Love my Browning BPR... a pump version of the 10/22 would be kind of cool

In a market that's still seeing the demand focus on semi-auto and anything "tactical". I don't see any new pump rifles, in the plans. The 96 model line came and went without much fanfare and I do believe another take on that whole realm would see a similar fate. Neat idea just 30 yrs too late.

That is true... the Remington 7615 was a flop
I guess there are some states that will not let you hunt with a semi auto?

can't beat the fun of a pump 22rf. The Remington 572 is a ball to shoot. More fun than the 10-22, because you have to develope a rythmn in firing. those old rifle galleries at the amusement parks were right in having pump 22 Winchesters with 22 shorts. I remember breaking the clap pipes; but today it isl ight beams with out the 22 powder smell. Just not the same.

Aw hey i gotz one kinda like it . Hmm a Ruger pump in 22 or even center fire, I canna quiet see it but with a rotary mag rather than most tube feed pumps be a way different gun than seen before.

Awards Showcase

I don’t know. The lever action version I’m pretty sure saw dismal enough sales to already be dropped. I doubt a pump version would sell any better. But 10/22’s just about sell themselves out the door. I could see a scaled down No. 1 in .22 that is a rip off of the Rossi Wizard selling maybe. But pricing would have to be pretty aggressive to cut into that market.

the 96 ruger didn't sell because it was butt ugly !!! i never saw one on a dealers shelf but one in four carry a henry ( i may even get one myself ). like the idea of a single shot 22 , the second most fun rifle i ever shot was my friends stevens favorite . hmm , if anybody around the wiregrass area has one we might could work something out ....not knocking ruger though , these are just two items that Ol' Bill couldn't get to in time .

i think a pump gun would be cool... but "keeping it close to the 10/22" is what i thinkj killed the 96. a good auto makes an ugly lever gun (or pump). if Ruger put out another lever gun, or even a new pump, i think keeping it looking as UNLIKE a 10/22 (and more like traditional lever/pump guns) would be the smarter move.

i do like the idea of a scaled down (and cheaper) .22 No. 1

i'll take what i can get but there is more to a rifle than just the wood and the ten round rotary makes good sense . one should also consider the treasure trove of aftermarket target barrels, triggers assemblies ,sights etc that can transform an afternoon plinker into your own personal ratkilla . it doesn't have to look like a 1022 to stay close to concept and using existing part keeps it within my budget .

And with an additional forearm, completely redesigned action and more small parts to manufacture, it's doubtful a pump 22 would be under $500 if Ruger made one.
