We do not have any Henry rifles, but my husband's wants a Henry Big Boy Steel 41 Magnum.

How does the gun feel and handle ? Fit and finish. how smooth is the action, it looks to be a "lever/bolt" that is gear like in action.

A friend of mine and his Dad own a LGS and are (and have been) a Henry Dealer almost forever. They all feel and handle great (Myself, I prefer the larger optional lever). Fit and finish are second to none. Same goes for their quality control out of the factory.

There appears to be some confusion.
The Long Ranger is a product-improved Browning BLR in rifle hunting calibers, essentially.

Gear-driven action, detachable box mag, with or without iron sights.
There is no optional bigger lever for this model.

The early one I shot in .308 was smooth, very well built, and as accurate as most off-the-rack boltguns.
