My first post here, & I'll add that, having owned many guns over the years, those marks inevitably can't be avoided. But they are part of what makes that gun 'yours'.

Mil-spec triggers are part of the base model of just about every brand of AR. They are inexpensive and reliable. They are also heavy and gritty. The heavy part is by design, for safety. The gritty will resolve itself with use.

You can get an improved trigger with a 3.5lb to 4lb pull for as little as $45 or as much as $350. For a lower cost improvement, I highly recommend the $70.00 ALG Advanced Combat Trigger (ACT). Best bang for the buck in my experience.

I'm gonna go with the rest of the herd and recommend you just let it go and get on with shooting it. It's not blueing. It's a parkerized finish that's designed to get beat up. Seriously. You're concerned over absolutely nothing. Please take this with a light heart but if you showed up at a range (any range) complaining about a blemish like that on an AR you'd get laughed off the line. Now if your receiver had a big scratch on it I'd agree with you but those marks on the barrel are nothing. Congrats on your new rifle. I'm sure you'll really enjoy shooting in it.

Bozz48 will become famous soon enough
The EPT trigger at Palmetto State Armory gets high praise from the reviewers. I don't know how it stacks up to the ALG trigger, but it's only $29.99.

Took mine out to the range I've joined yesterday & put about 180 rounds' worth more character on it. The only blem I saw (thru the scope) was the upper left hand side of that bullseye.

I get the whole "character" thing guys but I think some would like to add it themselves, not with out of the box "Factory character".

My son's came out of the box the same way............He wasn't to happy.

Have you tried the EPT ? I'm trying to choose between the ALG and the EPT. My stock trigger smoothed out and now is just heavy. Will these feel better than the OK stock one or should I stick with what I have?
