DSCN1951.JPGBelow are some photo's of my new Henry Big Boy in .357, granted it is heavy, but I was aware of that before ordering. Too bad it is raining out here or I would go out and shoot it. Really nice metal to wood fit, as soon as I get a chance I'll report on it. Did have a bit of a problem at first getting the loading tube out, but that all smoothed out. Can hardly wait to see how it shoots.

You will really like it. Mine shoots very accurately at 75 yards and very little recoil. Enjoy it.

I did run some dummy .38/.357 rounds thru it and it fed and ejected the rounds without a hitch, I am going to have to smooth out the trigger though as it is a bit jerky. I'll take care of that after I put about 100 rounds thru it or so.

Beautiful gun. What made you decide on the 357? I'm curious because I've been interested in the gun for some time but torn over what caliber to buy.

Ruger Fan, years ago I had a Marlin (before the receiver safety) which had micro groove rifling in .44Magnum. I'm a pretty fair shot with a rifle, but I couldn't hit the proverbial barn with that rifle.

I ended up getting a Ruger .44Magnum Auto Carbine and now my .44Magnum handguns have a companion.

I've got quite a few .357/38 handguns but I never had a rifle in .357, so I did a lot of research on that particular rifle, and most claimed it to be extremely accurate, therefore I jumped on it so now I have a companion gun for my .357/38. Incidentally I'm an avid collector of firearms, and noted I didn't have a rifle in .357/38Spl.

As soon as this weather clears up, I plan on getting out to the range for a full report.

I don't have a Henry but I really love my Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357. It's a great ranch rifle and a hoot to shoot.

I have the same gun just got for my anniversary a couple of months back.
Last year my cousins boy got one and fours of us each hit a 10" metal plate at 200 yds offhand , some people don't understand the heavy weight is what makes it so accurate , it just sets on target no bobbling if that makes sense.
My wife took a old long fleece scarf and folded it over sewed one side and the bottom to make a nice sleeve .
Deer season will be over soon and its the first gun I plan on target shooting with need to collect some brass for reloading and as Hickcock45 says so goes the circle of life
