New wood for old Sears .22 Model 3T

I found this deluxe Winchester 290 stock on Numrich web site. It fits the Sears gun since it was made by Winchester. Only had to modify the wood where the butt stock fits the receiver. I put in a new extractor, since the old one was chipped, and a new recoil spring. It now looks and operates like a new gun. Had this one since I was in high school in the late 60's.

Congrats! looks great and ready for another 56 years of service and fun. I too have been busy during the fall with a couple of old marlin's both model 99, one carrying the revelation name (western auto). did some cold blueing, restocking and a few springs etc. the balance of the model 99 with a 22" barrel and 18 round tube mag is better than my much newer model 60 with 18" and 14 round mag. guess they didn't follow that old adage of if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Many sears etc guns were inexpensive but some were hidden gems like the fn mausers from the 50s sold by sears.

I always kept this one because it was more accurate than the other two semiauto .22s I owned. The original plain wood had seen it's better days though, so I was pleased to find walnut replacements. I love how it shoots shorts, longs, and long rifles without any problems. Not all of them will do that. I'm retired now, so I am taking time to clean up and fix up all my guns.
