Thanks Neon, what's not to like about WASRs? They are cheap to buy, they are dependable, eat anything they are fed, low maintenance, will run dirty as crap, and surprisingly, they are way more accurate than you think.

As Tacky noted, the same AR guys also seem to own AKs. It doesn't hurt to have both the AR and the AK in your collection, that way you always have a choice if you ever have a need for one. I've even started collecting the SKS platform. Only have 2 right now but there are a few others I've got my eye on right now.

I agree, the wasr is accurate enough, with a sight upgrade, a very worth while upgrade, it can be a shooter. I do like having rifles in the popular calibers, it seems every nation either uses 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56, or , 223 remington. That means a good supply of ammunition. The tapco g2 trigger is great on the wasr, and even tac-con is making an awesome new trigger for the ak platform. I also hope to one day acquire an sks, in original form, no need for high caps with it. A true purist would do nicely like happily addicteds tula.

Ooohh! Yeah I read about those earlier this year around SHOT show time. I'd like them to come down in price before I'd consider purchasing one. Even the Geissele SCAR triggers aren't that much!

As I mentioned earlier, here's my Arsenal SAM7UF. The only thing I've done to it is a Magpul MOE AK Grip and PWS brake.

Yeah they are pricey, but their aren't many options for the ak. Maybe soon.

What do you think of the pws on the ak? I have one on my ptr91kf, but I am not sure if it really improves the performance of the rifle, on mine anyways.

I'm hoping Geissele gets on board for an AK trigger.

The PWS seems to make some difference when the stock is folded, but shouldering it I couldn't tell a difference. Muzzle blast is increased with it as well when the stock is folded.

Thats aboutnthe same results imhabe witnessed with the ptr, it still seems jumpy when firing off a bipod, but not as blasty as a miculek, or bennie cooley.

It'd be fun to run that against a PSL. I'm sure the Russian would win.

And maybe not.

I was looking for a PSL but I found this and it was cheaper. Seems accurate enough, but I didn't understand how to adjust the scope at first. I need more range time with it.

Hmm, I agree, always wanted a psl, or svd clone, thought about the vepr to convert, but haven't settled on it yet. Should have bought one years ago when they were $650, missed my chance.
