Western Auto .22 mag

I recently acquired a Western Auto "Revelation" model 107 .22 magnum. It's in great condition, does anyone know if it'd be detrimental to the rifle to shoot the newer hi powered .22 magnums? Also, I believe it was made by Mossberg, for what that's worth. And hi, this is my first post.

coolfords, Your "store brand" Revelation is a Model 640K Mossberg. According to my references, it should be a bolt action 5-shot 22 Winchester Rimfire Magnum (WRM). They went into production in 1959 so assuming the gun is in good condition, it should shoot just fine. 22 Mag ammo hasn't changed much since it was first introduced except there are more choices of brands and bullet types.

Thanks Iowegan. That's what I was hoping.

And yes, Iowegan, your references are absolutely correct concerning the rifles description. Thanks again!

BTW, Remington and Hornaday even make ballistic tip ammo if you want to do some serious varmint shooting.
