I reloaded 50 .380 just so I could post on this thread. I have not got to shoot lately, so I have not been hitting the bench much.

I do the same thing, everything in batches for me. I never do that many though, usually just 200-250 at a time in 9mm & .380.

Cleaned my press and 9mm dies today ... and deprimed a few hundred shells. Getting ready to switch over to .38 wadcutters since I have 2,000 to load.

Would love to reload today or any day in the near future BUT . . . like most reloaders (I suspect) I didn't 'stock up' with supplies. I only have room for a few tons of components and as I said, I didn't 'stock up' before the drought. Not to worry - next time supplies become available, I'll buy what I need and probably what 20-30 other reloaders need so then I can come close to what the gov't and other users have stockpiled. Heck, I might even put some stuff up on ebay, charge huge prices, and become rich like so many other stockpilers. You never know . . .

I found that each case had to be handled four times. Once for decapping and repriming, once for charging, once for seating and once for crimping. On top of that, I had to wait for the scale to meter a charge and I also had to change out the dies four times. That means loading a hundred rounds meant handling them 400 times! A laborious process.

I didn't need the production of a progressive press, so I purchased a turret press. The difference is amazing. Now each case is handled only once. The charge is metered by a pro auto-disk powder measure that sits on top of the charging die. I can turn out a round in about six or seven seconds depending on whether or not I take a sip of coffee.

Anybody who is loading pistol ammo on a single stage press should seriously consider upgrading to a turret press.
I know turret presses are nice, but they just don't fit the way I do things.
I use a Lee Universal decapping die, so I can deprime 9mm & .380. I then clean the cases & that gets the primer pockets also, & I know it's a carbide die, but I just don't like resizing the dirty cases. I will then resize everything & I then flare & reprime in 1 step. I like having my cases to this point, then I can charge & seat when I am ready.
The great thing about this forum for me, is you get all the different ideas & recipes for doing things & you can pick whats best for you.

Setup my dad's MEC 600 jr for 12ga 1 1/8 oz target loads last night and finished a couple of boxes. Since my son joined the trap team, we're going through shotshells like they were given away. Luckily, Dad had stockpiled enough supplies to get us through the first case or two before we have to replenish.

This is still cheaper than buying Win AA. Plus, I'm teaching my sons about reloading. To me, it's a double score.

I loaded a couple of magfuls of a lrnfp I cast a couple of weeks ago. I need to go shoot them and see how I like the cast. I worked 73 hours last week so I didnt get to go try them out. About all I did do was finish the grips for my vaquero and get them mounted. I need to go try them out too.

Don
I feel you. I am making a run by our local store today and see if by chance I can get a brick of primers and a pound of powder. I was in a few months ago and got some primers. If I score I will be set til probably this winter. I am not out just not comfortable with what I have. Hate getting down to my last 3-400 rounds and not having at least supplies for that many rounds.

Picked up a lb of IMR4895. Now if I could just find more .224 50gr+ bullets.....
Tonight I'll switch back to rolling some 9mm. Last night I finished off loading the last 90 or so pieces of .223 brass I had.

Re: Who Has Reloaded Today?

I didn't reload today, but I got a step closer. I have supplies for 9mm and .45, though not a lot and not nearly enough bullets. But I've been trying to get into rifle reloading in .233 and .308.

Today at Cabela's, I found small rifle primers (Remington) and large pistol primers (Winchester) do I got a 1,000 count box of each.

I also scored some rifle powder for
308. It's IMR 4227SSC. Not my first choice, but I'm taking what I can get these days. Anyone used this powder yet? It's listed down to 22-250 but not .223.

So now I'm still waiting for large rifle primers, a good powder for .223 and my Lee .223 die set. Then I finally should be ready to begin.

Oh yeah, and .223 bullets.

Shot 30 round's today that I loaded this morning. Shot these same one's yesterday a couple go round's and the day before that.Trying to find a nice load for the SBH and I am quite satisfied with today's result's. It's been fun though trying to find a powder that like's a 180gr RNFP. Not so hard with the heavier bullet's but just have never been able to have a consistent 180gr in 44mag. 90 feet is as close as i ever shoot, so it want be a tack driver, but close.lol Yes I reload something almost everyday, does'nt everyone?
