Thanks! And now I know.....the rest of the story.

Immediate challenge is figuring out where to set up a reloading bench. Will have to keep it small. Maybe even a portable set up for now.

Cowboy, for a young feller you sure know a lot... or maybe just enjoy searching the web for facts. Whichever, it is interesting that there really is a press called the Rock Crusher. The guy at the range who asked me about my "Rock Crusher" confirmed he meant the "RCBS's press" when I asked him. Though, I didn't correct his misunderstanding.

I'll have to go read a bit about the RCBS history. And maybe I'll do a search for the Rock Crusher press, too, just for fun. Thanks!

P.S. I just looked for that Rock Crusher. It is a BIG press for the 50 BMG. It weights 103 lbs. Rock Crusher is a good name for it.

I too just went and looked up the Rock Crusher, and for what it weighs, and what it costs i think they sell it by the pound! I think it might make a good swage press for turning all that 9mm surplus brass into good .40 bullets!

I don't know alot, i just remember stuff and don't Facebook, you guys are my social network so i'd rather be here learning about guns than anything else!

Wave, how soon will you get your gear? Have you begun to look for components yet? There are good threads here about benches, and might be some over in the projects section too. Take care!

Stuff should start showing up here in a week. Midway shipped the dies today, Cabela's still processing orders from the weekend I guess. No hurry. I'll go poking around the threads looking for bench ideas. Some I've seen look VERY nice - furniture quality. My problem is I live in a humid, tropical climate so anything you don't want turning into a chunk of rust has to be in a climate controlled environment (A/C). So no garage bench for me and our houses here don't have basements (if they did they would be indoor pools) and A/C space is at a premium. Will have to limit mysef to a simple setup.

I'm pretty excited. I drew one in an area that you can only hunt in if you draw the permit and they only award 145 permits spread over three 4-day hunts. And I drew the first hunt to boot! Gotta get in and do some serious scouting now as I don't know the area - never been able to hunt there before. Got lucky I guess.
