| Berry's bullets
I've been out of reloading for along time. About 20+ years. I'm getting ready to crank the old Rockchucker up. I've read about Berry's bullets here and on other sites.I apprecite the info. They look like good projectiles and the Free Shipping over 50.00 was hard to beat.
I ordered
2000 9mm 124gr plated HBRN
1000 38/357 cast 158 gr SWC
500 .429 cast 240gr SWC
I'd hate to see what shipping would have been if I had to pay for it all the way from UT. to NC.

Let us know how you like them, I never bought any Barrys cause they don't put cantalures on anything for revolvers, seams they cater to the semi-auto crowd.

There are several plated bullet companies that make great products. You can't beat the service from Berrys or Xtreme. I've ran thousands of Xtreme bullets, .357, .40, and .45AP. I just got an order from Berrys because they are one of the few that carry the Hornady rifle bullets I like. I think I may try thier hollow base bullets next for the .45. Berrys is also developing thier own line of SD hollow points.

I hesitate about ordering them but from all the good I read about them I decided to give them a try.

But Berrys says you can taper crimp thiers. I light taper all my autos with no problems and heavier on the magnum(with cannalure). I wasted a few seeing how deep a crimp before you cut through. I wouldn't roll crimp one but taper seems to work for me.

It headspaces off of the mouth, that why a taper crimp is used. You need a cannalure for roll crimp or deep taper.

They were some of the last of my reloading and I loaded allot of them. I still have have 2 of the smaller ammo cans and one of the larger ammo cans full. It was 45 ACP. In the ammo can I had a paper with what and when I had loaded them.It was dated 6/89. I shot them in my SR1911 and was having a problem. Over the years the bullet sizing lube had seeped out and hardened. Right where the bullet meets the case mouth. I cleaned several hundred with a rag and carb cleaner. Once I did that they shot like I had just loaded them yesterday. I'm sure I'll have to do the same with the ammo cans I have left of it.

I use them in 45 ACP and 9mm. Ran a few through my ACP cylinder in my NM Vaquero and they're flawless. Keep them u nder 1200 fps per their suggestion and I'd say you're golden.

I run them in 9mm and 45acp, load 500-1000 a month. A light taper crimp will bite right into the copper plating.

I've loaded nothing but Berry's plated in my Dillon RL550 since I started just about a year ago. 9mm, .38, .357, & .45 and have bee super satisfied with all of them. I think that it is a good idea to own a chronograph since Berry's recommends limiting the fps on their plated products.

You will really enjoy the 124gr HBRN. I use the FP version of the same. Works very well for me over 3.9-4.0gr N320 with a light taper crimp. 1000fps, extremely accurate.
