| 7mm Rem Mag load
Howdy
Haven't loaded for the 7 Rem Mag in years and am getting going again.
Bought some Barnes LRX 145 gr. bullets. Want to try H4831SC powder.
The bullet is new enough that not even the Barnes manual or website has a load listed. I gathered the data from a few manuals and sources for the next heavier bullet (150 gr.)
Lyman 49th says start at 60 gr. with a max of 67 gr. (150 gr. JST)
Hodgdon site says start at 62.7 with a max of 68 gr. (150 gr. Barnes bullet)
So I put together some test loads in .5 gr increments starting at 63 up to 66.
Next day (haven't shot them yet) I run onto a Barnes #4 manual and buy it.
It says start at 54 gr. with a max of 61. (150 gr. Barnes bullet)
That's quite a difference!
Question is, do I start pulling bullets or are the loads I built safe to shoot?
The rifle is a Sako 75 Hunter.
Thanks in advance for your input.
