Berry's make good bullets ! I have shot thousands of 9mm, 40cal and 45acp and like Nick said if you keep it under 1200 fps all is good. Just ordered a couple more thousand. I use a lot of Bullseye (Bull eyes) @ 4.0gr (be very careful a double charge of Bullseye can fit in a case easy)
Good luck !

Good thing to remember is that Plated have a higher velocity than FMJ due to the softer bullets, but this is more relevant if youre loading something else that gets past 1200fps like a full sized .357. They do have a "Thick Plated" bullet in some cals though and I've tried their 9mm 115gr hollow base round nose - thick plate and think they are worth the extra $5 per 1000
The Dillon dies are pricey but they are quality, for the cost you save on .45 using plated, just keep shooting and it will pay off. A progressive is a little complicated, if its too much right now, just run 1 case at a time, but its easy to get the hang of, I started with a 550 and if I had a single stage now, a year later, I'd seriously be looking for an upgrade.
Berrys does make some good stuff, just ordered 1000 9s, I've loaded 3000 of their stuff in 9 and .38 so far e vs only 1000 fmjs I've loaded and the plated have been good, especially for the price, not super cheap but more forgiving than lead seems to be.

I've been loading berry's 230gr with 4.8gr of winchester 231 for a few years. Crono last time showed a slow of 690fps to 730fps. My needs may be different than yours since I'm only shooting paper bulls at 25yds. We started seeing pressure signs at 5.2gr, but YMMV. It's been a few years since I worked up this load and I might re-visit it, but I'll stick with 231. It's a cleaner powder than Unique or as I recall Bulls-eye .

I shoot 50 rounds and you'd think I shot 5000. I'm going to try W231 or PowerPistol next.

I use Berry's 185 gr. plated HBRN and 230 gr. plated RN with SR-4756 powder.
8.8 grains under the 185 yields near 1000 fps, and 7.3 grains with the 230 tops out around 850.
Both of these loads are well under Berry's maximum recommendation of 1200 fps.
Considering the nature of the .45 Auto beast, it's tough to exceed 1200 fps, regardless of load.

I used 4.0/B'eye/200gr. SWC as a falling-plate match load for a number of years. It worked well. I went to 4.0/B'eye/230gr. LRN when I was out of 200s, and I liked it even better. If memory serves, 5.0/B'eye/230 FMJ was something of a duplication for military ball.
I like and use the second load very much. The really nice thing about the .45 ACP is that, if the load of interest is sufficiently stout to reliably operate the slide, then it's powerful enough to do anything for which the pistol is intended.

I use 5.1gr of W231 under a Berry 230RN at 1.260". Works well in my SR1911 and my XDS. I had to fiddle with my crimp to make them work the way I wanted. I still have a little tweaking as I feel I can increase the accuracy a bit more.

For lead data Bullseye has backed way down and max charge is 4g at 230g LRN. If you e-mail Alliant they will give you updated load data. I was confused when I would look at hadloads.com and the new pdf that Alliant puts out. Seems that they have backed off on all their loads w/ Bullseye.
