How many of you had this as a beginning reloader? This is a discussion on How many of you had this as a beginning reloader? within the Reloading forums, part of the Firearm Forum category; I also had one for my 20 Gauge shotgun but can't find it. Perhaps it went on a garage sale?... |

I also had one for a shotgun, but after one box of shells, I went and bought a Pacific shot shell reloader. |

I did, 31 years ago, .38/.357. It's still around and I have actually, kind of "collected" a few more, for either the most common calibers, 30-30 for instance, or the oddballs I don't shoot much, .300 Savage, "Just in case".

20 odd years ago, that was what I started with for loading .44 magnum
There's something gratifying about knowing exactly what's in your ammo.

In about 1968 or 1969 I bought one for 38/357 and one for 20ga. Still have the 20ga but don't know what happened to the other.
It was always interesting to do those while watching TV (Wow! 21", COLOR) and whack your hand, or set off a primer.

My first reloading tool was a Lee Loader in 20 gauge. My dad got it for me in 1972. I still have it plus an additional crimp starter.

.357 and a can of Unique. Several years later I moved up to the Lee Anniversary kit.

Luckily things have gotten so much better. But way in the back of one of my reloading cabinets I have some old Lee and Lyman paraphenalia. One day when I'm dead someone will paw through that old crap at a gun show and wonder about the old days.

I decided to get a rcbs reloader as my first one and after getting a lee loader in trade I used it for 38 super and it was slow even compared to a single stage press.
