I'm shooting a S&W 38/357 mag 686-3 5" B, I need to know the powder load of (min-max) 700x under a Hornaby # 10408 158 gr lead SWC . Just using it for plinking.
The Lee manual lists 3.3 to 3.6 for 790 fps for .38 special with that bullet and 4.7 to 5.2 with a jacketed bullet of that weight jacketed for 885 fps. I would be of the opinion that it is a "narrow range" powder in that bore diameter.
Sprinkle 1/2 tsp of powder graphite in the can & shake well , then treat the measure with graphite .
It`ll flow like water afterwards !!
Ifin ya don`t want to treat the powder ,just treat the measure & try it .
