Sellier and Bellot Czech ammo

Does anyone know what powder S&B uses in their Czech made 338 lapua match cartridges? I read somewhere that it was Schultze but I can't find any confirmation. My 338 Lapua 250 gr Match cartridges are carrying 85.5 grains of an extruded powder yet produce the same velocity and accuracy that 93 grains of H1000 do.

No real info, but if the powder is short, FAT sticks it might be Vihtavuori N160 or N560 which may fit the performance profile . . . though I don't know what velocity you're seeing.

If you do open one up, compare to photos you can search for here Forensic Data Base. Wouldn't be definitive, but thosee VV powders are a bit unique.

I thought it might be VV but I didn't have a sample here to look at. The numbers would work with VV though, 2960 fps out of a TRG 42 at 3000ft of elevation... The S&B is every bit as accurate at 500 as the Hornady match, but when you put them beside each other there is quite a bit of difference in their overall lenght and jump to the lands. Just trying to figure out if S&B knows something that Hornady (and me) missed.

They have been making ammo for a long time.

I really like their primers also. I have gone through about 7,000 without a single issue & I have another 5,000 on the shelf.
When Cabelas sells them for $20, it's hard to say no.
