All,

Looking for a .41 mag 215gr LSWC load using SR4756. Looked thru all my manuals and cannot find this load. Anybody have a Lyman 49th edition they could look thru? I would appreciate it. I have found several loads using UNIVERSAL but I would like to stick to one powder for all of my handgun loads.

Thanks

The 49th edition of the Lyman manual only gives 4 recipes for the 41 Mag. NONE of them are for lead bullets, unfortunately. The loads that are there do NOT include the use of SR4756, either, so that is not a source of the info you want.
Sorry.

I'm considering getting a can of 4756, it seems like I'm finding various loads for that.
I have one .41 and I'm about to gain a second.
I'll post if I discover anything interesting. Soon I'll be shooting cast 215g Penn bullets for a lack of anything else.
I can't get any jacketed, they're all on BO.
Haven't started casting yet, but I have been shooting Berry's FNs.
Soon I'll have a serious range session. But so far all I've done is test for pressure signs.
I haven't stopped using Blue Dot in spite of the warnings. Just keeping my eye on pressure signs with the "forbidden powder"

Here's a good discussion of that issue:

I decided to use the last of the SR4756 for .44spl and cast bullets. Looking at all of my manuals, looks like W231/ HP38 can be used in all of the pistol calibers I own. (.44mag/spl, .41,.357/.38, 9mm)

My 2nd choice is Universal or Unique.

So I am going to buy a pound and see how it shoots out of my Ruger Blackhawk .41.If I like my results I will stay in that direction.

I like to use 1 powder for pistol loading for safety reasons.

BTW: Sure is hard to find cast lead data for .41.

I have the Loadbooks manual for the .41 mag.

It has a few loads from Lyman and IMR listed for SR4756.

They are usually around $7. I find it to have the most info for lead bullets.
Some info appears to be quite dated so take with a grain of salt or contact the powder folks to see if info is still viable.
