.25 Remington Data ?

I'm looking for the case trim length and the O.A.L for the .25 Remington. I already know the .25-35 load data works but need the dimensions. I presume the magazine may determine OAL but not sure.

TIA!

Bob Lewis, For the 25 Rem, max length is 2.050" and trim length is 2.043". That doesn't mean you have to trim cases .007" shorter ... it just means cases can't be longer than 2.050".

Overall length depends on the bullet used. Because a 25 Rem is not a SAAMI approved cartridge, there are no COL specs. The best solution is to use a bullet with a cannelure and seat the bullet where the case mouth is centered on the cannelure. The only factory load I could find was a Winchester with a 117gr bullet. It has a COL of 2.58"

trainking is on a distinguished road
Hi Bob,

From my Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions book.
Case Length 2.04"
Loaded Length 2.53"

From Ken Water's Pet Loads.
Case Length 2.05"
Loaded Length 2.525"

I looked in my old loading manuals all the way back to Speer #1 and didn't see it there.

I hope this is of some value.

Keith

Trainking and Lowegan, you both provided the information I needed. This is for a friend that I'm helping,he is just starting to hand load out of necessity. He will turn out to be a very capable hand loader.

Thank you, Bob
