GP100 Question

I bought some 300-MP a while back and was trying to find reload data for 158 gr bullets, which has a similar burn rate to H110 and W296.

Since none of the current edition manuals had any data and the websites offered very limited information, I called Alliant.

I asked them for reload data for 158 gr HDY XTP and 158 gr Silver State hard cast RN.

They were able to give me data for the XTP: 14.7 - 17.0 gr at 1.59" COL, but had nothing for the Silver State.

Not having any success contacting the bullet manufacturer, what load would you suggest for a lead bullet with lubrication ring?

zaster, Powder will keep for a long time so my recommendation is .... go buy some powder that is listed in nearly all reloading manuals .... W-296 or H-110. After 300 MP gains some popularity, maybe it will show up in future reloading manuals.

IQ45 is on a distinguished road
I saw an article from Handloader magazine (Oct.2011) that shows some loads using your powder and a Sierra 158JSP, powder range of 17-18.5 grains and velocities of 1253-1405 respectively. Always dangerous for me because I'm not looking for another powder for my GP100 and am a big Hercules/Alliant fan from way back. Since I am a newbie, I am not permitted to post the link to the online PDF (5 pages), but if you will PM me I believe I can send it to you, no problem. Hope it helps.
