I'm trying to find a good load for my Ruger 77/44 It did like the 300 Gr XTP's better than two different 240's and also the Leverevolution 225's. I know these 1/20 twist bbls are better with heavier bullets, but I'm wondering if those 265 flex tip made for the Marlin .444 will work? I didn't look at any load books yet, but speculating the books wont show much for that bullet in a .44 mag. I don't have any load books showing it in my possession, so will have to investigate, but hoping somebody else already tried them.

I'd be leery of experimenting with the long, pointy FTX in .44magnum without reliable data. C.O.L. is critical to avoid pressure spikes and it's not worth it to me. The 225 and 240 grain bullets aren't the best choice in a rifle as the impact velocity can be high and cause hollow points to fail to penetrate. Check out Speer's 270gr Deep Curl Bonded JSP and the 270gr Gold Dot Soft Point. They should be able to be seated to a correct COL in standard cases and feed through your magazine.

I cant even find any on stock anywhere to purchase.

That Speer deep curl is .429, verses all the Hornady's being .430. I was told Ruger barrels better with .430 bullets, but I guess I can try some .429's out.
