Hey all,
Im gathering some supplies for a nice light 38 special round for my gp100 357 mag.

Maybe a 110 grain hornady hollow point, but not sure about the powder, any recommendations ??
Thanks

Here is a load from the Hodgdon website. I use Clays for Cowboy loads and it is much cleaner than Bullseye and recoil is min.

Bullet Weight (Gr.) Manufacturer Powder Bullet Diam.
110 GR. HDY XTP Hodgdon Clays .357"

C.O.L. Starting Load Grs. Vel. (ft/s)
1.455" 4.0 1002 14,400 CUP

Maximum Loads 4.2 1073 17,000 CUP

Bonus is you can use Clays for shotgun loads ! http://data.hodgdon.com/

I have a couple I think of as light and easy going yet very dependable for great accuracy.

148gr. HBWC's (Zero Swagged)
2.7gr. Bullseye
WSP
Mixed Brass
Flush seating--LIGHT crimp
FPS: 717 fps (S&W M15-4 w/4" barrel)
726 fps out of S&W Model 52-2

158gr SWC (Zero Swagged)
4gr W-231
WSP
Mixed Brass
OAL: 1.480
Medium to light crimp
Measured velocity: 740 fps avg. (out of a 5" S&W M&P)

pahunter - not sure what you have in mind but if you insist on a lightweight 110gr JHP bullet in a short 38special case for your badboy GP100- I'd go with about 5.5gr Herco. There are a lot of powders, and twice as many favorite recipes but you need a gameplan with an end result to work toward. Your question is too broad to give a really good answer. Is the powder one you will want to use for other loads / calibers? Do you plan on using different bullet weights? Maybe want to load 357mag too with the same powder? Unique is good too, and Bullseye will work well in light loads.
