bullseye for 45 colt?

hey guys, been reloading for awhile now, and just got me a new ruger BH. i am currently reloading some leftover 250 grn nosler bullets, but running out fast. i would like to get into casting my own bullets from WW. the BH i got is one of those convertibles, and it shoots 45ACP really well. my loads are 230 gr. round nose with 5 grn bullseye. i also use this for my EAA witness match gun, and it loves it. i was wondering if this powder was any good to use in the 45 colt as i have a lot of it at this moment, and not to much money to spend on other powders at the moment. if it is not a good canidite, what is a good powder to use. i am looking to use the gun for target practice, but also want to start hunting whitetall this year, job permiting. i would like to be able to get around 1000 fps if possible. dont think i need barn burners for hunting deer at 50-75 yards. thanks guys, brian.

p.s. also, ive heard of red dot being used in 45colt. anygood??

No reason BE won't work well in the 45Colt. Some folks worry about such a small charge in a large case, but with care I don't see a problem. Is it the 'best' powder for the 45C, well, that's debatable, but it's not a bad one. Use it and enjoy. If I were buying powder for the 45C, I'd look hard at unique, Herco, Universal, and HS6. There really are so many powders that work well in the 45C that I wouldn't be afraid of any pistol powder in the burn rate charts from WST to 2400. Just stick to the faster end for light loads, and more toward the slower end for hot loads and you'll get some great fun out of the 45C, it's a great caliber and hasn't lasted this long for no reason.
