.22 Henry rifle and .45 Colt Revolver.

I can truly say I am 'relearning' how to shoot a rifle as I really haven't settled down and shot much with rifles since I was a kid. So today was a learning experience with the .22 Henry at off-hand shooting from standing position. I did my learning backwards as I shot all six of the contest targets I had on hand first (awful) and then settled down to shooting paper plates which I should have began with . Anyway, a couple more days of paper plate shooting and I 'may' be ready for the contest targets! Once I found a good consistent hold, my groups started to tighten. By the time I was done I was shooting 'some' one inch groups at 20 yards off hand. Not consistently of course, but one of three 'groups' was a good one. Fun day at the range. Kind of funny because I can outshoot (off hand) the rifle with my revolver at this point in time although I am getting better... even out to 77 yards. Go figure! Guess that's why we 'practice'! Hah!

Today was testing the rather inexpensive FM red dot on the 22/45 Lite. $62 at Sportsman Guide. Reviews for it were encouraging, so I'm giving it a chance. Shoots great so far.

10 rd group at 15yrds using a rest. Fwiw, the lower center was an SA Officers size .45 8rds at 15yrds, standing, off hand, using a modified Weaver stance. Alum case FMJ Blazer. Flinch flyer lower right. Sometimes it gets me

You can also see the cheapie .22 rated steel flip targets. 50yrd bank, and 100yrd beyond.

The M1A is typically the highlight of the day. Only 10rds (f'n around at 100yrds) tho since it was about to rain .

The end

Today I shot two .22 magnum bullets at a coyote at appox. 250 and then again at 275 yards. Missed both shots.

Repeat again .45 Colt Ruger SA and .22LR Henry Rifle. Humbling experience when shooting rifle off-hand out to 50 yards open sights.... Good practice though! Because of the way the Henry rear sight is, one click up the ramp shoots high, one click down shoots low no in-between..... Hmmm.... compensate between the ears!

Went to the range yesterday and put some 30-30 down range with my Marlin 336. So much fun.

Today I got my Kahr CW45 back from Kahr service. They replace my barrel and slide and updated my 3 mags.

Shot 35 rounds of PMC 230 ball just fine. Hope it stays fixed.

Repeat. Repeat again .45 Colt Ruger SA and .22LR Henry Rifle...... More hot weather fun. All done for the week probably as the range will be having 'matches' the next two days ...
