Went out yesterday to test new steel targets my friend makes. There went a brick and a half of .22lr. Lots of fun up in the cascades. Plus we saw great scenery, an elk cow and a doe and a young buck. It was a great day.

Took the S&W 686 Plus (7 round 357) and shot a box of Remington 38+P and 5 357 rounds

Also took the Bond Arms Cowboy Defender w/357 barrel set. Shot 10 38+P and 4 357 white box rounds. The mags in the Derringer are a lot to shoot, but manageble.

.22lr today. My Ruger Single-Six convertible and 1911 with the .22 conversion unit. Luckily, I've got plenty of .22lr so the pistols and my 10/22 have been getting a workout lately.

So today I shot my Sig P230 (.380) to find out if I'm good enough with it to consider it a a CCW weapon for summer clothing. ANS: I am if I really try for social work at close ranges for head shots, but man, that's a little gun.

I also worked hard with my Cougar 40. It's my primary CCW. Question: after all the common just blasting away for reliability testing, how good am I? Certainly good enough. It will stay my primary CCW and I'll just keep working on the print through.

Shot my new RIA Tactical FS 1911 9mm today. I fell in love all over again. I shot it as well as I do my SR9C which is pretty darned good.

Very nice RIA Tactical. Congrats on your new 1911.

Some high action filled shots from this mornings wild plinking session here on the inlaws property.

Parked at the gate and hiking up the mtn. About 1/3 mile down from the house. Pretty thick in the summer. The gate stays locked.

An early morning web glistening in the sun.

Lots of Coyotes in these parts. This is 2 diff ones passing by. My dogs always have to poop and pee on'm. A few Black bear have been taken out of this particular area as well.

Impromptu targets. And a .22 laying on the ground.

Around here its ok to drive around with a loaded rifle on the front seat.

The end.

This week it was my Springer Range Officer .45, my S&W Model 41 and my Rossi 16" lever carbine .357 Mag. The range was a bit more crowded than normal this afternoon. Probably because of the holiday tomorrow.

Yes, Ruger .44Spec flattop. Excellent revolver ... and caliber. Skeeter loads is all I shoot in it.
