Range Records

I notice that many shooters are very specific when they talk about the number of rounds through a particular gun, how many FTEs, FTFs, etc.

I assume that many shooters maintain a log book of some sort.

How many of you keep records, and what type do you keep?

There are apps for the iPhone to maintain serial numbers and photos of targets sorted by weapon + ammo.

What do you like about these apps? Any recommendations?

I keep 3 Excel spreadsheets on my pc in a folder labeled "firearms". The first catalogs all guns owned with date purchased, from where, serial #, price paid, etc. The second is a cleaning record with date last cleaned, total rounds fired, rds fired in current year, rds fired since last cleaning, malfunctions with ammo used at the time, and any other important info. The third is an ammo inventory.

I don't have an iPhone or any apps.

RockDoctor is an unknown quantity at this point
All my firearms are on a spread sheet with manufacture, model, serial #, caliber, date of purchase/from whom, price, date sold/to whom, estimated value.

I only keep a log of my hand loads: bullet manufacture, weight, size, powder/load, primer and chronographed velocity.
