in Nj the few public ranges charge 15-20 dollars an hour and generally enforce time limits unless the range is fairly empty. i am a member of a private indoor range we pay 170 dollars a year and can shoor 9 am to 10 pm mon-sat sunday 10-10. In NJ the club membership is a sales tax eligible item so I also pay 1090 sales tax. all club membership is sales taxable.

my local county range here in nevada is darn nice (though i don't have a lot to compare it to), and is $7 for the day (ALL day), and right now it's $5 for all day, as i picked up a fistful of their coupons two weekends ago at the gun show. yep, $5 stay all day if you want (granted, i only stay for a couple hours, but still...).

In Las Vegas- $7 no time limit for the county range (outdoors), $10 no limit for a local indoor range, or you can go to several spots out in the desert and shoot for free. |

$7 per adult (18+) for all day at Ben Avery Range, run by Az State Game & Fish linky
Per day is as long as you wish to stay, which this time of year is not all day (outdoor range)
I buy the pass, 11 days for $70.
Our local USPSA club uses practical pistol range at same facility - our entry fees include the main range fee, so can apply that over at main range after a match - which works out very well.

The closest local outdoor range that I go to charges $12 for the first gun and $6 bucks for each additional weapon. No time limit, no person limit.

The club I belong to is all outdoor. It's a $100 initiation fee and $40 annually, along with doing 8 hours of volunteer work annually. We have a 25 yard, 50 yard, (2) 100 yard, 200 yard, and a 130 yard back in woods.
I believe we have 98 acres and you can deer hunt there also. As a member once you join your range time is free and membership is capped at 400. They have trap shoots a few times a month, a 100 yard off hand center fire rifle shoot 1st of every month, open to public. $6 to enter and you shoot 5-6 times. They have a pit where they lower it every shot and mark each target and bring it up at end of round. Pays out top 3 spots each round.
Have an annual banquet where they raffled off a SR-1911 this year. Also have 2 national bench rest shoots. Really good club.

I'm a member of a private outdoor range at the cost of $140 a year, unlimited from dusk to dawn. The range features a covered pistol range and several rifle ranges out to 1000 yds. A shotgun range is available as well.

Local indoor range charges $10 per day all day, $5 on Thursday or $100 per year unlimited. Gun rentals are $10 per gun. Very popular do to our hot summers.
Outdoor range is $60 per year, unlimited usage.

My outdoor range here in El Paso is $40 per year for the family. It's ran by the MWR at Fort Bliss. It's open to civilians for about $100 for a year. It's a well kept range, and since we're in El Paso, outdoor year round is no problem. There are about 10 ranges for pistols, rifles and shot guns. One plinking and the rest are divided by rifle or pistol.

How I miss Texas.
At our club we have 7 outdoor ranges - the 100yd range has room for 25 shooters, next three trap houses, a cowboy town, a handful of 25 yd "bays", and my fav range has lanes for 25,50 (four each), 75, 100 (3 lanes ea), 150, 200, and 300yd lanes. All the outdoor lanes are covered except a couple of the pistol bays. Indoor lanes are limited to 25yd small bore rifle, pistol. It also has a very nice 5 acre fishing lake. Just about 1000 members now, $100 a year w/10 hours service duty. They have plans to open up a longer range - I'm counting the minutes.
It's a real nice place, but I still miss Texas.

As retired Army we had run of the place when time was tight or my son was not avail to go out to the desert. Very, very well kept range.
Anybody who lives near a Army installation should check on this option.
