| Milwaukee area: where to shoot?
I could use some input on the best places to shoot, both indoor & out in the Milwaukee area. I have time, so certainly willing to drive a ways for a place that stands out for being especially nice.
Thanks in advance for your help, guys.

I live in Cudahy so I go to:
The Shooters Sports Center Inc.
4900 6 Mile Road
Racine WI 53402
(262) 681-1040
I also bought both my hand guns there. $12.00 an hour for the range. Nice place. This is an indoor range.

Thanks to all who've replied.
Want to hear a truly tragic tale? I know a guy in Iowa who lives on a 250 acre farm, thus going to the range is the same as stepping out the door. Hell, he could just open a window & shoot from a La-Z-Boy! The closest neighbor is a half mile away & he could legally fire off any of his 20+ guns at 3AM if he wished to. No range fees. No travel. No waiting for an open lane. No brass being tossed in his face by the person to his left. No chance of being flanked by two guys each with a big bore that shakes the concrete floor of an indoor range. He describes hitting one gallon water jugs at 300 yards as "fairly easy" & has for years been planning to try a 600 yard shot. How many gun ranges do you know that even offer that distance!?! In other words, firearms utopia!
Tragic part: he's long been too depressed to get out & shoot much despite having what would make most of us green with envy.
All the while I have to do a 25-mile round trip to shoot on an 25-yard indoor range limiting me to pistol calibers only (up to & including .500 Mag, which one can be sure some young man with tons of bravado will surely shake the floor with). Does this add to the evidence life isn't fair?

Our local shooting club here in SW Wis. cost $25. a year ,and a one time $10. fee for your own key, They have clays, skeet and sporting clays. We only have 4 rifle, pistol benches but the range is 250 yrd. It is marked off 25-50-75-100yrds. They keep it very clean and the club house can be rented for private partys. It has become more and more busy each year. I am lucky enough to go during the week and usually have the place to myself for 1-2 hr shooting sessions. I try to shoot at least once a week. and when they have a fund raiser am not afraid to donate. I consider myself very very lucky.

Come to my back yard. :-).
Seriously, I moved to Louisiana a couple of years ago. Going to the range means stepping outside!
Miss a few things from WI, but not the snow. Hope you find a good place to shoot.
