Bought the sr9c in stainless on 6-6 and had my first experience at the range and with a pistol today. Gun shot flawlessly. Seemed damned accurate, not that you could tell from my target. Great gun. Did clean it well before hand and had an armorer friend run a diamond file over the breech face and inside where the slide meets to help against the seemingly common peening issue. Only got 104 rounds in, time to buy by the case!

I have a new SR9c also. My first trip to the range with it was great and my SR9c was great. I put around 400 rounds down range without any issues. I cleaned it prior and left the slide locked back and the mags loaded for about a week prior to help break in the springs.

Glad you like your SR9c. I am glad I got my SR40c instead of the SR40.

Glad you had a good range trip. I just bought 1 also & love it. Great trigger & very accurate for a compact 9mm. I really like the SS look also. It's my 1st 2-tone pistol.

| I too took my first shots with my new SR9c
I too took my first shots with my new SR9c today. I bought it 2 weeks ago but finally got to shoot it. In a word, the gun is awesom and I absolutely love it. I fired 200 rounds with no failures of any type. I really like the trigger. The accuracy was excellent once I got a feel for the gun. The only question is why did I not bring more amo. I won't make that mistake again.
Good luck and I hope you continue to enjoy your gun.

I understand the ammo needs. Im 231 rounds in with 1 ftf (ammos fault I think, I only slid the magazine in, hadn't fired yet). Next time ill probably take 300 rds with me.

Just range tested my SR40c yesterday and I was astounded at how accurate the pistol was. I had expected more of a close-in spray and pray pistol, but the SR40c, in common with what you report about your SR9c, was very, very accurate. Ruger did a great job on the sights too; they were right on the money right out of the box.
These SR pistols don't get as much praise as they deserve. Based on its initial shoot, the SR40c is going to be my go-to pistol for many applications.
To the OP -- I was wondering how your follow-up shoots have gone? I had one failure to properly eject in my first 100 rounds; otherwise no issues. Going to take it to the range Saturday and put another couple hundred through it.

Red, everything I've put in it has come out as expected. Only had 1ftf but I think it was the ammo, not the gun. Still accurate and shoots like a dream. Im loving it.
