:mad:Man went to the range today shot 50 rounds of Federal FMJ 115 grain thru my LC9 got 5 = 6 FTE's can not figure what happened 1st 2 mags great then it started 1 fte then another mag 2 fte's back and forth. Only have 176 rounds thru it guys said that I need to break in with 1000 rounds, Man so when would it be ready to carry ? It shot good 1st time only 2 fte's maybe 4 fte's out of 100 rounds maybe some of the rounds was weak and could not eject. Came close to trading it in but I was facing a loss of $100 dollars I think I will give a few more tries any suggestions for me let me know thank god my PT709 is shooting great. Thanks guys and ladies...

No pistol is ready for carry unless it can feed, fire, and eject at least 200 rounds without a failure.

Federal is pretty good ammo, but try using another brand with a clean/lubed pistol.

Bigdaddy, take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and repeat until relaxed. I had a couple problems with my LC9 at first. The front site slid around after the first range experience and wouldn't feed SGD +P or Corbon DPX. Sent it back and got it back flawless and completely reliable now and have several hundred rounds of different FMJs and JHPs through it both standard loads and +P. I am now very comfortable and confident carrying the LC9. It's worth a little patience to get such a small package with some punch when deep conceal is called for.

Came close to doing that today. Cleaned it good yesterday and had it packed up brother. Was heading to the local Gun & pawn where he offered me $225.00 for it I was going to try to get $250.00 and go get my Glock back from where I purchase my pistols and shoot. Was looking at the Glock Gen 4 suncompact. Traded a Gen 3 G27 to get this and I regret it some because that was a great pistol. Should I take the $50-&5 dollar loss and just do it that is the question or give the gun a chance because it does sit nice in my waistband???

Used Federal FMJ last go around 115 grain you think that maybe I should stay with it it did good 1st time I shot it actually it was Blazer I shot with 115 grain maybe it needs diiferant range ammo little more punch for the ejector to extract cartridge.

One of my LC9's has more than 1000 rounds through it. Only every had jamming trouble early on with some bulk load hollow points. I run Federal FMJ 115 grain most of the time. The other LC9 is new, ran about 100 rounds so far, no trouble. Both are SN: 321-XXXXX

So hang in there, they can be good guns. For sure, if you think there is a problem have Ruger take a look at it. I also disagree with selling it and buying an M&P Shield; just buy the M&P Shield and keep the LC9 too. :) Maybe I like guns too much.

Just might do that got the Taurus PT709 shoots well love that one wanting to get this one right. Looking at a .380 now if I stay with thi one if I don't I am going to get another Glock I gave up my .40 Glock 27 for this one because I wanted all 9mm's but now I am thinking back to Glock maybe but in the 9mm Glock 26. We shall see if I want to spend more on another 9mm and get rid of the Ruger LC9 or keep the LC9 and get my .380 my guy here where I work says that the extracter is not grabbing the round he had problem like that he took file rubbed it once said never had the problem again. Sometimes it is not getting the rounds out he said that is probably the problem it will work out or I can do that. The gun is jam up love the gun it is just do I want to wait to see what happens or spend the extra and get the beast again Glock. Hell for the price of the .380 I can get another 9mm or the Taurus PT740 .40 cal. What ya think about that

Not to stray from the subject but this is why I carry an SP101 most of the time. I have autos in 380, 9mm, 45 acp and my Ruger Mark lll. My S&W 4586, my Colt 1991 and my Ruger P94 have been totally reliable but are too large for concealed carry. The rest of them have FTF/FTE or stovepipe problems and although I like the size and capacity I do not feel confident enough in their reliability to trust them in a life or death situation.
In 44 years of carrying and shooting revolvers the only failure I've had is when the hammer dog nose (firing pin) broke on a Smith model 10. Fortunately, that was on the range.
Carry what you trust, what you are proficient with, and what is comfortable for you to carry. For me thats a small revolver.
