22/45 MkIII Range Report

For the longest time, I've always shot my 22/45 at between 25 and 30 feet, and usually did OK.

I recently purchased a Truglo reflex sight for it, and I got that pretty well dialed in at 25 feet.

At the range this past weekend, I met a guy who was shooting a S&W Victory with a red dot sight. He was shooting at 25 YARDS, and trying to sight in, shooting from a sandbag rest. I decided to give it a go with my 22/45. Predictably, I had to adjust the elevation on the reflex, but got it adjusted.

I was happy to see that, shooting from my own bench rest, I was able to put just about all my shots into a 3-4-inch circle. Not bad for an old fart with bifocals.

It was a blast! (Pun very much intended...)

And I wasn't about to see our beloved 22/45 outdone by a S&W!
