Ruger LCP2 Range Report

Over 150 rounds without even a hint of a hiccup. 60+ Blazer, 60 Winchester and 30 rounds of Hornady SD XTP rounds. Six mags of rapid fire, then another 20 mags and it just kept putting lead downrange. I even mixed a few mags with alternating range/SD rounds and it never missed a beat.

The range was a mud bowl, so I only managed a very unscientific accuracy "test" but it was excellent for what the gun is made for. I'd guess that when I was taking my time from 7 yards it was grouping at under 2" easily with several clover leafs.

The only POSSIBLE con (and this might be the wimpy shooter) was that it was snappy, even with a Hogue grip. After four mags, I put a shooting glove on. But it's not supposed to be a range gun so I'm not concerned. And I doubt that I'll notice the recoil if I ever have to actually use it (pray it never happens).

I'll probably put 50 rounds through it every month or so, and I think I can handle that without the wimp glove. But I think it's ready to be my hot weather CCW and definitely a BUG for my G43 or G19.

Glad you like it. The LCP line is too small for my paws otherwise it would be in my kennel.

Pocket size .380's are snappy. They are hard to hold onto. You put a lot of rounds downrange. I would have worn a glove too. That kind of reliability and accuracy is confidence inspiring. I find I just run a magazine or two of FMJ rounds through mine every other range trip to give me motivation to clean and lube it. I shoot up the magazine of carry rounds every six months or so and load up fresh ammo. A small .380 in a pocket holster goes with me whenever I leave the house. Enjoy that new Ruger and stay safe.
