Thumbs up Two lever actions to the shooting range

Yesterday I made a trip to the shooting range. I have had a Savage Model 99 .300 Savage for about two months. I worked up a few reloads using 110-125 grain bullets & IMR 3031 powder. Now I have just tired this gun @ 25 yards a indoor range. But I have to say that wow this rifle being made in 1936 is certainly very accurate rifle. I have a Nikon Pro-Staff 2-7x32 BDC scope on it & I was very pleased with the results small hole cluster with both the Nosler 110 grain bullets and the Hornady 125 grain SST Bullets the same results! Also the other rifle was my newly acquired Uberti 1873 Winchester .357 Magnum Short Rifle. I was shooting .357 158 grain jsp American Eagle loads and some reloaded .357 158 grain jhp loads and .38 Specials. I was able to get a very small groups at 15 yards and also a decent 25 yard group 1.5-2 inch groups using the open sights. My only problem was my older eyes and the open sights on this rifle making it a bit harder to see what I was aiming at!!! But when I got home I took the Uberti 1873 & taped off the front sight and painted a small white dot on the front sight blade. This should help alot!!! All in all I was very pleased with both rifles. It was a good day now later on to post pictures of the Uberti 1873 in the lever action forum!!!
