Range Report Redux New CZ75 BD 9mm

Well, I got the new CZ75 BD out to the range for some serious shooting this morning. My earlier range report was mainly focused on determining a) if the gun was reliable; and b) how the trigger job worked out; and c) whether Mike at West Coast Gun Works had installed the Tru-Glo sights such that they were correctly aligned, given that these are fixed sights. It was thumbs-up on all of the foregoing.

Today we were just target shooting, and also I wanted to test whether the 40 S&W magazines for the CZ75 in that caliber would also function well with 9mm. The answer is a resounding YES! By visual inspection of the Mec-Gar magazines for the CZs in 9mm and 40, they are identical excepting for the round-count perforations in the side. Be advised that a 10 round 40 magazine will hold 13, count 'em 13 9mm rounds. The 40 Mec Gar magazine fits the 9mm gun identically to the 9mm Mec-Gar magazine, feeds perfectly and functions perfectly when loaded up with 9mm. I fired at least ten magazines worth of bullets from the 40 magazine. Not a single issue; it functioned identically to the 9mm excepting that it held 3 extra rounds.

Oh, by the way, I put new CZ rosewood grips on the CZ75 BD:

At 9 yards, my shooting was OK. The gun will shoot as accurately as my poor abilities allow:

Here's one with about 4 magazines shot at it:

The CZ75 BD is so mannerly that I could have stayed and enjoyed shooting it for several hours. It handles recoil very well due to the all-steel construction. Anyway, I hope that this review helps someone.
