Colt XSE to the range!

Took one of my Colt XSE 1911s to the range today and put 250 rounds through it. This gun is completely stock excepting for Tritium sights added, and a Crimson Trace lasergrip. Say what you want, but Colt really knows how to build a 1911. The gun functioned 100% with cheap range remanufactured ammo. I used Colt, Chip McCormick, Checkmate, and Ruger magazines, including 1 CMC 10 rounder. Accuracy was good but not great probably due to my overcaffeinated state. Lots of bull's-eye shots, but a fair number of flyers too.

Really enjoyed the Colt XSE. Thank goodness I bought two of them before they became unavailable (new) in Democrat-occupied California.

nice gun. I have a deposit on a colt 1911 double action as for me a 1911 trigger is unsafe due to loss of sensation in my trigger finger. All my glocks have ny plus triggers. 12 lbs for safe fire. I get accidental discharges on 1911s with 7lb trigger so no 1911s except as a collector item.

Yeah, the XSE really comes about the way I like a 1911. The stock sights were actually excellent; they were identical to the Tritium ones excepting no Tritium. I like night sights on a handgun.

I have about 1500 rounds thru my XSE and the only negative i can find is the ambi thumb safety. I will eventually swap it out.

Great looking gun and I am glad to hear she performed well at the range.

Colt has a slight advantage in experience over the other 1911 builders. 106 years of experience and counting.

I have a Colt 1911 XSE stainless in 9mm with single right hand thumb safety. It's beautiful to look at and a great shooter with minimum recoil. Still don't know why Colt quit making them. I did have to tune the extractor a little for a more consistent ejection direction but what the heck it's not made like a Ruger.
