Well, the gun weighs 9 oz or so. You were surprised with the recoil? LOL

I have a Sigma 40 and it is a bit snappy, but not bad. Recently got a SR9c and it shoots like a dream. It weighs as much as a full size gun and has the double spring in the slide like the 4th gen Glocks. It is my EDC now and I love it.

Congrats on the new gun.

I actually started laughing to myself the first time I shot it. Knew I should expect the recoil but for some reason surprised. It was pretty funny. Never had something as light as the LCP. It is so much fun.

I have a P3AT, and it has plenty of recoil also. I assume that in a time of need I wouldn't notice the recoil......

The LCP will recoil. Get used to how it handles various ammo you feed it. Enjoy a quality handgun that will serve you well.

I will enjoy it. I really don't mind the recoil just not used to it. I never owned something that small. It is so fun and reliable. My first Ruger and plan to buy more.

I like mine too - it does kick, but not to much if you learn to control it.

Thanks for the report on your LCP. I took my LCP out to the range a few days ago. I shot 42 rounds through it without any FTF or FTRs and had great accuracy at 7 yards. Love this little pistol. Glad you are enjoying yours!

I see you have discovered that the LCP will not be your primary range gun. It definitely bites. I came across a post on the ElsiePea forum and it involved changing the springs to accomplish keeping the brass closer to home when ejecting and as an added benefit, "maybe" reducing the recoil slightly.

The factory dual springs are 9# and Wolff makes a spring kit with 11, 12 and 13# springs. I bought the kit and installed the 13# spring set. It now takes more oomph to rack the slide, but this was expected. I will take the little devil to the range this week and see what happens.

I always take the LCP to the range and shoot 2 or 3 mags just to keep in practice. My primary carry is a Beretta Cheetah, also a .380, and it is llike shooting a .22. It's a little harder to conceal when you're wearing shorts and a tee shirt (or your Speedo) so the LCP still, because of its size, fulfills its' role.

My lcp hurts my hand more than my sp101. Its a great gun to stick in your gym shorts when you have to run to the store real quick.

Yeah it's not my range gun but will shoot it often. I like my Astra A-75 9mm. I do believe I will shoot my LCP every time I go to the range. No pain no gain.
